Zapletal - Ourednicek back in the cocpit of Mitsubishi L 200

As soon as Mirek Zapletal and Tomas Ourednicek got back  from Italy from the first BAJA race of the FIA world championship of this year, they just set out for a new adventure. For the first time in their career they are heading to Abu Dhabi to take part in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.  After 15-month-long brake they again will  drive their Mitsubishi L 200 in which they crashed down  in the 2010 Dakar Rally.

Zapletal and Ourednicek with their two mechanics departed yesterday for a beautiful sand-bound Abu Dhabi. One of the most prestigious race of the FIA world championship starts today by the administrative scrutineerings on the Yas Marina racing Circuit. Apart from Zapletal-Ourednicek crew assigned by  224 starting number, there are 38 automobile crews enlisted in the race including another Czech crew Janeček-Vykydalová in their LC 120 Toyota.

The Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, and Eurosport Events announced their partnership for the television production and broadcast of this year’s event that will take place on 1-7 April 2011. The 2011 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge will receive regular TV coverage on Eurosport, Europe's #1 pan-European TV channel reaching over 123 million homes across 59 countries, as well as on Eurosport Asia-Pacific. Both channels will show a 12-minute daily highlights programme (repeated five times the day after) featuring the prologue as well as each of the 5 stages.
